Ultraviolet Tee Testers

The most satisfying and inspiring part of any pattern release is seeing it made up by other women! It is so fun to see a collection of different women using different fabric and making different design decisions, all from the same pattern. I was fortunate to have an amazing, inspiring, creative assortment of women that tested the Ultraviolet Tee and I’m honored to share some of their gorgeous creations and their thoughts on the pattern! (Extra special thanks to the first three ladies below for being my cover models!)

“Love this pattern and it’s a welcome addition to my wardrobe! Oversized crop top that I can throw on with some jeans and still look put together and a bit sexy.” (Find Martha on Instagram)

“I would make this again! It is relatively quick and easy, so I would definitely recommend it.” (Find Mary on Instagram)

“The mold is simple, minimalist but the result absolutely fabulous. Responds to any style, casual, sporty, chic. The execution on 1, 2, 3 … done. Maybe of my favorite patterns.” (Ana)

“Loved the pattern! The shape is very flattering and it came together super fast. I’m not very confident sewing with knits, but the result is still quite nice (and forgiving when mistakes are made).” (Find Aurelie on Instagram here and here)

“I wasn’t sure I would like a top that was somewhat cropped in the front, but after seeing the other testers’ photos, I got some ideas for styling! I made my Ultraviolet Tee in a rayon with a very flattering drape, and I love pairing it with distressed skinnies and a tank, but I can also imagine it as a great swimsuit cover up. And can you imagine how cute it will be over a tank dress?!” (Find Suzy on Instagram)

“It’s a quick and easy project with an on-trend shape, perfect for beginners.” (Find Jenny on her blog or Instagram)

“The Ultraviolet Tee is a great slouchy tee that can be smart or casual depending on the fabric choice. It’s flattering shape works well to layer or worn on its own. I can see it becoming a staple in my wardrobe.
I love the fact that the pattern includes instructions for woven & knit fabrics as well as different hemlines.” (Find Nicky on her blog or Instagram)

“I love how the curved hem makes this simple-to-sew top look like something really special.” (Find Karen on her blog)

“As I was looking for summer tops to quickly make, this is exactly what I was looking for. (As I am of the over 60 group, this is young looking and I still can have a sense of mature modesty with it. *smile)” (Find Yvette on her blog or Instagram)

“I love how fast this tee sews up, and depending on the fabric choice, it can be made for different occasions. I was able to make a woven for work, and a thin one out of knit to wear to yoga.” (Find Stephanie on her blog or Instagram)

“This pattern offers a lot of variations, both in style and fabrics. All in all this is a versatile pattern, suitable for a first time sewer.” (Find Kathleen on Instagram)

“This pattern comes together very quickly. In one day, you could make a handful!” (Jamie)

“The Ultraviolet Tee is a quick sew and can be dressed up or down depending on the fabric you choose. The first time I wore mine out my mother-in-law fell so in love with it that we had to go fabric shopping so I could make her one too!” (Cheryl)

“The Ultraviolet Tee is a lovely stylish top which is great to throw on in the summer at the pool or beach, but I think it can also be dressed up, depending on what fabric you use. I love the curved and dipped hem. I think this is a pattern with lots of hacking potential too.” (Find Clair on Instagram)

“The Ultraviolet tees is such a simple sew that you could cut it out and sew it up in an afternoon. Since the tee can be made in a woven or knit fabric, it means you could twice as many variations without getting bored! But, the best part about it is its versatility. It can be dressed up with a pencil skirt for an interview or date night, or dressed down for a casual picnic or running errands by wearing it with your favorite jeans.” (Find Emily on her blog or Instagram)

“This pattern is a blank slate just waiting for you to get creative with it through easy modifications. I had so many ideas looking at it – making little tabs for the sleeves with buttons, adding a peter pan collar or little ruffles at the neck, or a fake button placket in the front, or soft 2” long self-fabric ruffles at the sleeve hem or hem.” (Find Helen on her blog)

“I love the pocket!” (Brenda)

“Sewing this pattern was easy and the tee is comfortable and nice: highly recommended!” (Find Angela on her blog or Instagram)

“This is yet another great pattern from Seamstress Erin! It’s so quick and simple to make, thanks to her detailed instructions and real-world sizing. I plan on making several of these tees for myself and friends for summer!” (Dawn)

“I like where the hem hits.” (Find Alice on her blog or Instagram)

“This is a style that I really like, particularly for summer, and it’s a simple, quick sew. It fits well and is a comfortable style to wear.” (Find Katie on her blog or Instagram)

“An excellent basic for the handmade wardrobe!” (Find Kym on her blog or Instagram)

“I did the pattern in knits and it was super easy to assemble and fit comfortably. I like the slight curve to the shoulder seam which I think attributes to it fitting well. I don’t usually like raglan like sleeves on myself but the way it draped at my shoulder it didn’t give that oversized look that I don’t think is flattering on my body type. It wasn’t too full under the arms either which is what I like.” (Find Terry on Instagram)

“I love this pattern, perfect for beginners and the UK summer, lovely quick sew for wardrobe filling.” (Find Kelly on Instagram)

“Ultraviolet Tee is a perfect way to add a light colorful pop off color to your warm weather wardrobe. With the hi low hem, and loose flowing form it is great for layering and Lagenlook lovers.” (Find Jo on her blog)

“The simple lines of this pattern make it great for bright fabric or super fun prints to take center stage.” (Find Anna on Instagram)

“Need a great top and need it quick? This is it! I didn’t time myself, but I’m certain that I cut and sewed within an hour!” (Find Tracy on her blog or Instagram)

“I would recommend this pattern to others. It is an easy pattern with clear instructions, suitable for all abilities.” (Rhian)

“This was a fun quick sew for me! I like that the sleeves are included in the front & back pieces. Super comfy top!” (Find Kristie on her blog or Instagram)

“I will recommend this pattern to others because is very easy to sew and easy to fit.” (Find Carla on Instagram)

“This was a SUPER EASY sew! Great for the beginner or even the advanced seamstress who doesn’t want to sweat the details!” (Christianne)
