Fully Armed Battalion Embroidery Pattern
Pattern for an embroidered love letter based on lyrics from the musical Hamilton.
The pattern was inspired by the musical Hamilton. The lyrics are “Oceans rise. Empires fall. We have seen each other through it all. And when push comes to shove, I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love.”
The pattern includes instructions for how to stitch it on tightly woven fabrics. It has a full size print (on 2 pages) that can be traced or printed directly onto your fabric using a transfer method such as transfer-eze. It also includes separate diagrams for each stitch showing which portions should use each stitch and suggesting floss color and number of strands.
Stitch it for your loved one for Valentine’s Day, your anniversary, or just because!
It is designed to be a 9.25″ finished circle to fit nicely in a 10″ hoop for framing.
You will need:
- 14″ square of tightly woven cloth (suggested muslin or linen)
- 6 colors embroidery floss: red, dark grey, dark brown, medium brown, navy blue, and steel blue
- embroidery hoop (optional)
- embroidery/cross-stitch needle
This pattern includes simple illustrations of how to stitch each of the 6 stitches used in the embroidery. For additional help, follow my tutorials for how to stem stitch, french knot, chain stitch, and backstitch.
